"This new arrangement means that every club that releases a player to the World Championship qualification 2026 will now receive direct compensation", writes the International Football Federation (Fifa) in a statement.

In total, 355 million dollars, equivalent to 3.3 billion kronor, will be distributed to clubs whose players participate in the World Championship or World Championship qualification.

The agreement with the European Club Association ECA means an increase of 70 percent compared to the 2 billion kronor that was distributed at the World Championship in Qatar 2022, according to Fifa.

At the Qatar World Championship, 440 clubs from 51 national associations shared the money.

The Swedish men's national team had in the latest national team gathering four players from Allsvenskan: Kristoffer Nordfeldt, AIK, Robin Olsen, Malmö FF, Axel Norén, Mjällby AIF and Anton Salétros, AIK.
