Alliansloppet to pay double prize money after chaotic finish in men's race

It was a chaotic finish to the Alliansloppet men's race. Now the organizers promise to pay out double the prize money.

Alvar Myhlback appeared to have won the distance roller-skiing race, but after the jury reviewed the race, it was clear that all but two skaters had made mistakes.

This led to a change in the results list, and the victory instead went to Andrew Musgrave, with Myhlback finishing fourth.

Now Alliansloppet says it will pay out prize money according to both the original and corrected results. This means that both Myhlback and Musgrave will receive 50,000 kronor.

"We have built this event together with the riders and teams. We know how much time and resources they put into competing and that the prize money is of great importance," says Trollhättan Action Week founder Magnus Eriksson in a statement.
