A federal judge in the US capital has reluctantly dismissed all remaining cases related to the January 6, 2021, riot.
Judge Amit Mehta is following the Justice Department's decision in April to vacate all convictions, but writes in a statement that he had no choice and that his action means erasing "criminal acts that caused centuries of democratic foundations to give way."
