When the final whistle blew at Mjörnvallen on Sunday afternoon, great jubilation scenes erupted among the green and white home players.

Alingsås had defeated the major club Rosengård. Even though the Malmö club has lost a multitude of stars, the team is still the reigning champion.

It feels completely incredible. We make a great first half. In the second half, we basically only have to defend. God, we deserve this, says team captain Moa Jarl to Viaplay.

The big match winner became forward Karin Lundin.

In the last regular minute of the first half, Lundin broke through and scored the only goal behind Rosengård goalkeeper Eartha Cummings.

The second half was mostly about a Rosengård onslaught. Then the home goalkeeper Alexandra Blom – the 25-year-old responded with several giant saves and had help from the post on one occasion.

She was completely incredible. I don't know how many class saves she made, says Jarl.

Despite the three points, Alingsås remains as a jumbo. The next-to-last Växjö team has four points.
