After plans for a sequel were scrapped by another production company last year, "Clueless" has been given the green light by Paramount+, writes Variety.
The new series is set in the present day, and Alicia Silverstone from the original film returns in the same role. The good-natured Cher Horowitz has become a successful businesswoman and devoted mother, but when her own daughter reaches adolescence, she becomes "clueless" once again.
The romantic comedy "Clueless," a satirical tale of teenage life centred on Cher's high school days in Beverly Hills, was a hit when it was released in 1995. The sequel is set in Los Angeles in 2027.
