"Ali G: Who iz I" will be available in Sweden from Wednesday, October 28. The film was set to premiere in cinemas, but was removed from Filmstaden's programme just days before the premiere.
"We distribute films for Sony Pictures, which in turn handles Amazon's films. A couple of weeks ago, we were told that the film would not be shown in cinemas," marketing manager Mattias Lundin told Sveriges Radio P3, adding that the decision was Amazon's.
Sacha Baron Cohen has faced criticism in the UK since the trailer was released because it features Ali G with dreadlocks and a hat made of dreadlocks.
