Film director Ali Abbasi (Border and The Apprentice) is part of a new Danish council, along with 14 other representatives from the Danish cultural world, that will strengthen “cultural resilience.” According to Minister of Culture Jakob Engel-Schmidt (Moderaterne), the new council will make recommendations to the Folketing but also create debate.
But how should the Council's mission be understood?
It is important that current and future generations are not only educated, but also aware that Denmark is a society based on the rule of law and a democracy, that its language is spoken by six million hard-working people, and that justice and impartiality cannot be compromised, says Jakob Engel-Schmidt.
