Algeria is clear for the World Championship in football in the USA, Mexico and Canada next year.

A 3–0 win over Somalia was enough for the team to secure the group win and become the fourth African country to take a place in next year's World Championship.

Behind the win was the former Manchester City player Riyad Mahrez, who made two assists to Mohamed Amoura and himself made the 2–0 goal.

Algeria has played the World Championship five times. The only time the country has advanced from the group stage was in 2014, when they lost the round of 16 to Germany.

Qualified as host nation: Canada, USA, Mexico.

Asia: Australia, Iran, Japan, Jordan (debutant), South Korea, Uzbekistan (debutant).

Africa: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria.

South America: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay.

Oceania: New Zealand.
