Among the twenty-odd documents are some of Alfred Nobel's patents and applications from the 1860s. The documents shed light on both his achievements and him as a person.
”It is very gratifying that they have been found and that they are in such good condition. Since the interest has been so great, we have decided that some of the documents will be exhibited at the Nobel Prize Museum", says Hanna Stjärne, CEO of the Nobel Foundation in a press release.
How the documents ended up in the summer cottage is unclear. But they were discovered by chance by a German couple who were cleaning out the cottage. They got in touch with Crafoord auctions who in turn contacted the Nobel Foundation.
