The industrial group Alfa Laval is doing slightly better than expected according to a report for the third quarter. The order intake is falling, however.

Alfa Laval reports a profit before tax of 3.0 billion kronor for the third quarter of the year. This can be compared to the profit of 2.5 billion during the corresponding period in 2024.

The adjusted operating result increased by 14 percent in annual terms to 3.2 billion, which was slightly more than the average forecast among analysts according to Bloomberg.

Order intake fell by 10 percent to 16.6 billion, from 18.9 billion kronor during the third quarter last year. This can be compared to an average forecast of 16.8 billion.

Net sales increased by 8 percent to 17.2 billion, which can be compared to 16.2 billion a year earlier. Alfa Laval exceeded expectations there, which were at 16.9 billion according to Bloomberg.

"We expect that demand in the fourth quarter will be at approximately the same level as in the third quarter", the company writes about the prospects ahead.
