It was high-level entertainment as Zverev advanced in Paris. The German took the first set after just over an hour of play, 7–5.
It was a little easier for Zverev in the second set, which he won 6–2. But in the third, Mensik came back, played well, and won 6–3.
Zverev, who is the highest-ranked player remaining in the men's singles, picked up the pace in the fourth set, winning 6–3 and the match 3–1 in sets.
The players are very skilled here, and I have managed to handle it, says Zverev.
In the other semi-final, Italian Flavio Cobolli will face compatriot Matteo Arnaldi.
