Alexander Skarsgård will be the guest host of the program, which will air on January 31. Cardi B is the musical guest on the same day.
"Saturday Night Live" is broadcast live from New York on Saturdays and each episode features a famous actor or personality as guest host leading the regular ensemble.
ABBA and Robyn have previously appeared on "Saturday Night Live" as musical guests, but Alexander Skarsgård becomes the first Swede in the program's 51-year history to be a guest host.
Alexander Skarsgård is currently in the US with two films: the LGBTQ drama "Pillion" and "The Moment," in which he plays opposite Charli XCX.
"Saturday Night Live" has been broadcast on American television since 1975, and the episode Skarsgård appears in will be the 1,000th episode.
