As an opponent, he has, among others, Peter Dinklage ("Game of thrones") and Oscar-winning Olivia Colman ("The Crown"). Colman plays a fisherman who is tired of her life in a restricted area and asks a pub owner to create a man for her – of wicker material, writes Variety.

The film is based on Ursula Wills-Jones' story "The wicker husband" and Skarsgård replaces Dev Patel, who originally was going to do the role as the wooden man.
