Alexander Isak Commits to Newcastle Amid Transfer Rumors

Football journalist David Ornstein at The Athletic tends to be right. He claims that Alexander Isak will not move this summer. At the same time, speculations are pouring in about the national team companion Viktor Gyökeres' future.

According to Ornstein's sources, Isak chooses to stay loyal to Newcastle since the club will play in the Champions League next season.

Isak has been surrounded by constant transfer rumors, and it has been talked about that Newcastle has set a sky-high price tag. Amounts of around two billion kronor have been mentioned in British media.

The national team star cost around 750 million kronor when he was bought from Real Sociedad in 2022.

- There is nothing else to think about. I'm incredibly happy in Newcastle, in my life. I don't know so much, if I'm being honest, said Isak to TT in March.

Moving?

Gyökeres won the Portuguese league and cup with Sporting. He scored 39 goals in the league. He has occasionally stated that he wants to move to a bigger club sooner or later – and the suitors are many. His price tag is said to be around 800 million kronor.

Midfielder Hugo Larsson, Frankfurt, and defender Isak Hien, Atalanta, are also surrounded by transfer rumors.

There is movement among more players in the squad that Jon Dahl Tomasson has selected for the national team matches against Hungary and Algeria in June.

Changing clubs:

+ Robin Olsen ended his career in Aston Villa by playing a little over a half in the Premier League finale against Manchester United. Became clear for Malmö FF on Monday.

+ Victor Nilsson Lindelöf was bid farewell in the same match for his eight years in United. Is linked to both Benfica and Besiktas.

Can change clubs:

+ Alexander Bernhardsson. Kiel was relegated from the Bundesliga after just one season. Has a contract until 2027 and claims to be happy in Kiel.

+ Gabriel Gudmundsson, Lille, has an expiring contract.

Wants to move

Wants to change clubs:

+ Benjamin Nygren. The forward played against both Luxembourg and Northern Ireland in March and impressed. Has made it clear to Nordsjälland that he wants to move, either this summer or winter.

Loan players:

+ Samuel Dahl. The full-back belongs to Roma but has been playing for Benfica since February, who wants to keep him.

+ Hjalmar Ekdal. The defender returns to Burnley and the Premier League after a half-year in Groningen.

High Allsvenskan transfer factor:

+ Hugo Bolin. The 21-year-old is seen by many as the next big export abroad. Has a continued fine development after the breakthrough last year. Contract with Malmö FF until 2026.
