Hot, hotter, Alexander Isak.
The Swede has scored six goals and made two assists in the last four Premier League matches. And against Ipswich, it didn't take many seconds before he had written himself into the goal protocol again.
As early as 25 seconds into the match, the striker appeared in the right place at the right time and scored a rebound to make it 1–0.
The goal was Isak's eighth of the season in the Premier League. But before the hour was up at Portman Road in Ipswich, the 25-year-old from Solna would have added both his ninth and tenth goals as well.
Second Swede ever
A huge mistake, where Ipswich's Swedish midfielder Jens Cajuste was put in a tough situation by goalkeeper Arijanet Muric, allowed Isak to take advantage of the home team's sloppiness again.
But with the third goal, in the 54th minute, the 25-year-old showed class when he got a tough chance but found a gap between an Ipswich defender's legs and completed the hat-trick. The final score was a resounding 4–0 for Newcastle.
Isak is only the second Swede to score a hat-trick in the Premier League. Only Fredrik Ljungberg has done it before, according to Viaplay's broadcast.
It feels really good. It's been in the air for a while now, to score my first hat-trick for Newcastle. So I'm super happy to have finally done it, he says in Viaplay's broadcast.
The win was a very important one for Newcastle, who haven't impressed much during the first half of the season. The team climbs several places and is now seventh in the Premier League after the win.
Elanga scores again
But the Swedish success didn't stop at Isak's hat-trick.
Anthony Elanga also scored a goal for the second match in a row, when he scored the 2–0 goal for his Nottingham Forest away against Brentford. The 22-year-old has three goals and two assists in this season's big success story Nottingham, who are third in the table.
