It hasn't been a dream start to the season, neither for Liverpool nor for Swedish star Alexander Isak. When the team visited Leeds in the Premier League, Isak was dropped from the starting line-up. The replacement thanked the trust and scored two goals.

Alexander Isak started the last match against Sunderland and the game before that scored his first Premier League goal for Liverpool when he put it 1-0 against West Ham.

But criticism has rained down on Isak's first time at his new club.

Trainer Arne Slot was allowed to ride out to the Swede's custody on Friday.

"We signed him for six years and not three months," Slot said, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Against Leeds, the Swede was benched. Hugo Ekitiké was his replacement as the spearhead of the attack. The Frenchman thanked the trust and scored two of Liverpool's goals in a match that ended 3–3, after a late equalizer by Leeds in the 96th minute.

Isak replaced Ekitiké with five minutes left to play. Superstar Mohamed Salah was also benched, for the third game in a row, and did not get any playing time.

On the left in Leeds' back line, the national team's Gabriel Gudmundsson played the entire match.

The reigning champions Liverpool are in serious trouble and are eighth in the table.
