On Saturday, media reports said Isak had injured himself and would miss the Premier League match against Manchester United.
And so it was.
When Liverpool's starting XI for the match at Old Trafford was announced, it was clear the Swede was not in the squad.
The reason the 26-year-old missed the match is unclear, but according to English media, the striker suffered a groin injury.
United won 3–2. Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko put United 2–0 up after just 15 minutes. Liverpool fought back through Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo before Kobbie Mainoo decided the eventful match.
With the victory, Manchester United is ready for the Champions League this fall.
