Alexander Isak is missing from Newcastle's preseason tour in Asia. Now new information emerges that the Swede wants to leave the Premier League team – and Liverpool is pointed out as a possible club address.

On Thursday, it became clear that the 25-year-old will not travel with the team from England on the preseason tour in Asia. The message comes after the Swedish national team player was left out of Newcastle's squad in last week's training match against Celtic. Then, coach Eddie Howe meant that the decision was based on the transfer speculation surrounding the star. Alexander Isak has been linked to Saudi al-Hilal and Liverpool in recent times.

On Thursday, football journalist Fabrizio Romano wrote that Isak wishes to move from the club – and points to Liverpool as a possible destination, despite the team just recruiting French striker Hugo Ekitike.

”Alexander Isak has informed Newcastle of his desire to explore a move this summer. Isak did not travel on the preseason because he is open to a new chapter in his career – and is exploring alternatives to leave", writes Romano.

Newcastle meet Arsenal on Sunday in Singapore followed by two matches in South Korea against a Korean all-star team and Tottenham.
