New loss – and once again no goal forward. Attack star Alexander Isak called the 0-1 loss in the World Championship qualifier at Ullevi against Kosovo embarrassing. It's a bit of a crisis situation, he says.

Again, the Swedish national team players had to leave a World Championship qualifying match without having scored a goal. Kosovo scored the match's only goal in the 32nd minute at Ullevi in Gothenburg and Sweden remains on one point after four matches played.

It's damn it. Embarrassing. Disappointed once again. Too bad, says Alexander Isak.

"Playing too badly"

The men's national football team has not scored a goal in the qualifying matches since the premiere away against Slovenia (2-2). This means three consecutive goalless matches.

What is it that makes it not work out for you?

I do not know. It's a combination of everything. We play too badly. The way we play doesn't work. We do it too badly individually as well. So it's a combination of everything really.

Many are demanding Jon Dahl Tomasson's resignation, but Isak does not want to get involved in the discussion about the national team manager's future.

I do not know. We are so damn dissatisfied, we as players. And as I said before, we take a lot of responsibility ourselves. We look at ourselves in the mirror. And there's no one who is approved. Not us players, not us as a team. And that includes of course the coach and everything around, says Alexander Isak and continues:

But those questions, we do not get involved in.

How do you see the development of your game?

It has been a negative development anyway during the spring and since the World Championship qualifying started. It has not moved forward and it's sour.

How was it to go up to the audience afterwards?

It's not fun. It's not fun to be booed. At the same time, you can't demand much more. We have underperformed enormously. It's sad that we are in this situation, says Alexander Isak.

"Crisis situation"

Sweden now has six points up to Kosovo in second place. A position that guarantees World Championship playoff in March.

It's a bit of a crisis situation and it's clear. What we should do, I do not know. But it's just too bad.

You said it was embarrassing today, can you elaborate on that?

No, but just in general. The position we are in with one point. I think, with all respect to Kosovo, that they play great. Partly because we make them good. They may be better than you think, but I can still think that we should be able to do better with the players we have, says Alexander Isak.
