Sweden began the World Championship qualification on Friday by playing 2–2 away against Slovenia after conceding an equalizing goal in the 90th minute. Then Alexander Isak – who was recently acquired for nearly 1.66 billion kronor to Liverpool from Newcastle – sat on the bench for the entire game.
Now, national team captain Jon Dahl Tomasson is fielding exactly the same eleven. Center back Isak Hien is again team captain.
”Was satisfied”
Sweden's starting eleven: Robin Olsen – Hjalmar Ekdal, Isak Hien, Gabriel Gudmundsson – Alexander Bernhardsson, Hugo Larsson, Yasin Ayari, Anton Salétros, Daniel Svensson – Viktor Gyökeres, Anthony Elanga.
”I was satisfied with the starting eleven's performance last time. It was a very mature performance in a difficult away game, then it's clear that we are disappointed after their late goal”, says Jon Dahl Tomasson to the association's website.
Kosovo, in turn, suffered a 0–4 defeat away against Switzerland in their premiere.
The number one in the group gets a direct spot in the World Championship in Canada, USA, and Mexico next summer. The number two gets to play a playoff.
Niclas Eliasson has a suspected injury and is sitting in the stands. Samuel Dahl takes his place on the bench.
”Going out to win”
”We're going out to win, that's our ambition of course. High tempo in everything we do will be important”, says Dahl Tomasson.
Swedish substitutes: Viktor Johansson, Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Emil Krafth, Samuel Dahl, Lucas Bergvall, Alexander Isak, Benjamin Nygren, Ken Sema, Jordan Larsson, Jesper Karlström, Axel Norén, Sebastian Nanasi.
Kosovo's starting eleven: Arijanet Muric – Mergim Vojvoda, Lumbardh Dellova, Fidan Aliti, Dion Gallapeni – Baton Zabergja, Leon Avdullahu, Elvis Rexhbecaj, Florent Muslija – Vedat Muriqi, Albion Rrahmani.
The World Championship qualification at Stadiumi Fidel Vokrri in Pristina kicks off at 20.45.
