Ludvig Åberg was the big Swedish hope ahead of the week, but after a worse Friday, he looks set to miss the cut.
Luckily, Alex Norén is holding the Swedish flag high.
The 42-year-old produced a new fine round and is still in the top of the PGA Championships.
The Swede offered consistent play throughout the round, and when he finished the day, he did so with as many birdies as bogeys, three in total.
Alex Norén, who has been long-term injured and is making only his second competition in seven months, miraculously birdied both the toughest and third toughest holes on the course.
Norén went around par and has a total score of –3. This puts him, with a few players still on the course, just outside the top ten.
Leading in the clubhouse after half the competition is the Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas on –8, four strokes ahead of Norén.
