Ludvig Åberg was the big Swedish hope ahead of the week, but after a worse Friday he missed the cut.

Luckily, Alex Norén is holding the Swedish flag high.

The 42-year-old made a new fine round and is still in the upper part of the results list at the PGA Championships. The Swede offered stable play throughout the round, and when he finished the day, he did it with as many birdies as bogeys, three in total.

Alex Norén, who has been long-term injured and is making only his second competition in seven months, miraculously made birdie on both the toughest and third toughest hole on the course.

Norén went around par and has a total score of –3. This gives him a shared 17th place.

The leader is the Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas on –8.
