Aleksander Aamodt Kilde Tears Achilles Tendon During Training in Chile

The injury setbacks continue for Aleksander Aamodt Kilde. The Norwegian alpine skiing star has now torn an Achilles tendon.

The Norwegian Ski Association announced that 34-year-old Aamodt Kilde was injured during training in Chile on Wednesday.

"Aleksander is now traveling home to Innsbruck for further medical examinations and an evaluation of treatment by his regular medical team," the association writes.

Aamodt Kilde crashed badly in early 2024 and was forced to undergo several surgeries and take a long break after sustaining injuries to his legs and shoulder blades, among other things. He returned last season after almost two years away, but did not feel ready to compete in the Olympics in Italy in February.
