For almost 60 years, Albert Mazibuko sang in the group that became world-famous for its collaboration with Paul Simon on the acclaimed 1986 album "Graceland".
Albert Mazibuko's cousin Joseph Shabalala founded Ladysmith Black Mambazo in 1960. Nine years later, the young Albert joined the music collective and, over the years, became something of the group's "wise old man".
The group blended traditional Zulu music with the South African a cappella tradition and a special kind of dance. In 1973, Ladysmith Black Mambazo released their debut album, and Albert Mazibuko performed with the group until his death.
