"There is no reason to worry if you have eaten meat from the area. The important thing now is to make hunters aware and limit future consumption of meat from the area," says Uffe Schultz, county environmental engineer at the Västra Götaland County Administrative Board in a press release, reports GP.

The County Administrative Board has previously been aware of PFAS, so-called "forever chemicals," in Västra Ingsjön and advises against eating fish from there.

The source of the pollution is firefighting foam from exercises at the airport that has run off into a stream.

Schultz also said that at present it is not possible to draw far-reaching conclusions and that more samples need to be taken.
