"A private individual found this on the ground and called us. We determined that this was a suspected dangerous object and cordoned it off," says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesman for the police.
The national bomb shelter was activated, however, and pictures from the scene published in Aftonbladet showed a hand grenade-like object.
The alarm came in at 1:30 p.m. and just before 3 p.m. the police announced that the object was not sharp.
