The municipality says that water samples show the water is unsafe. To avoid getting sick, the water should therefore be boiled before drinking or using for cooking. The water can still be used for showering and washing.
The boil-water advisory affects around 2,000 people and the municipality hopes to have a successful test on Saturday.
Until then, two water tanks have been delivered to a preschool and a leisure center, writes Kenneth Nyberg, communications officer at Hudiksvall Municipality, in an email to TT.
The cause of the unusable water is still unknown.
