Police found the 44-year-old man dead in a wooded area in Alabama on June 10, The Guardian reports. His 47-year-old girlfriend, who was also dead, lay nearby, and a car with its engine running was nearby.
The bodies were sent for autopsy, where it was determined that the woman had been strangled to death. Investigators now say the man is believed to have murdered the woman and then died while trying to hide her body.
