Akzo Nobel shares collapse after Nippon Paint and Sherwin-Williams withdraw bid

The stock has lost over a fifth of its value - the biggest price drop in the company's history.

The price decline follows Nippon Paint and Sherwin-Williams withdrawing a bid for the company after Akzo Nobel's board rejected a cash offer last week.

Akzo Nobel owns the brands Nordsjö, Sikkens and International, among others.
