Åkesson did not report board position to the Riksdag

Åkesson invested one million kronor in the company and took a seat on the board - but did not report it to the Riksdag's financial register, which members are required by law to do.

It concerns a company that owns a property in Sölvesborg. According to the rules, financial commitments must be reported within one month, for the sake of transparency. Åkesson's investment took place in 2024.

Regardless of why you don't do it, there is a risk that suspicion will grow that you are doing it on purpose, says Birgitta Niklasson, a civil servant at the University of Gothenburg, to TV4.
