According to the Israeli military, the targets were harbors and energy facilities that the Houthis use to support their warfare.
Israeli airstrikes were also directed at the port city of al-Hudayda, according to the Houthi movement. According to Houthi-controlled media, at least nine people were killed in the attacks.
Israel had previously stated that its air force had stopped a rocket fired from Yemen, before it entered the country's territory. Hours later, the Houthi movement took responsibility for the attack, which, according to a spokesperson, was carried out with hypersonic ballistic missiles targeting military targets near Tel Aviv.
Israel has also previously struck the Houthi movement in Yemen, when they in turn attacked Israel.
The US has also previously launched a series of attacks on the Houthis, who have been attacking merchant ships in the Red Sea for over a year with the stated aim of stopping Israel's war in the Gaza Strip.
