One plane was about to land in the city of Scottsdale when it suddenly went off the runway and crashed into the other plane, which was parked.
In addition to the confirmed death, several people have been taken to hospital. Four people were on board the landing plane and one on the parked plane.
The plane that landed is owned by rock star Vince Neil, singer in the band Mötley Crüe, which is confirmed by his spokesperson. Neil himself was not on board.
The accident follows several air disasters in the USA in a short time. On January 30, 67 people died when a commercial airliner collided with a helicopter in Washington DC. Shortly after, a plane crashed in Philadelphia, resulting in seven deaths. And last week, ten people died when a small plane crashed in Alaska.
