Concerns about developments in the Middle East are now causing a number of major airlines to suspend flights to, among other destinations, Dubai's air hub.

French-Dutch Air France–KLM has announced that it is pausing flights from Paris and Amsterdam to Dubai. In KLM's case, the decision applies "until further notice" and also includes destinations such as Riyadh and Dammam, as well as flights to Israel.

In addition to those two, the low-cost carrier Transavia and British Airways have also made the same decision regarding flights to Dubai, whose airport is one of the world's busiest.

Concerns in the region have increased after the US announced it is sending warships to the Middle East in light of widespread protests in Iran. Previously, German carrier Lufthansa announced it was canceling all flights to Tehran until March 28.
