Concerns about developments in the Middle East are causing a number of major airlines to pause traffic to Dubai and other destinations.

Dutch airline KLM announces that flights from Amsterdam to Dubai are being cancelled "until further notice", a decision that also applies to destinations such as Riyadh and Dammam as well as flights to Israel.

Norwegian, low-cost carrier Transavia, and British Airways have also made the same decision regarding flights to Dubai. However, KLM's partner Air France has decided to resume its Dubai flights after a temporary interruption.

Concerns in the region have increased since the US announced it is sending warships to the Middle East amid widespread protests in Iran. Earlier, German airline Lufthansa announced it would cancel all flights to Tehran until March 28.
