AIK's streak lives on – a win away from the record

AIK had to struggle hard to take their 15th straight win, but Alfred Backlund's full hit 17.15 into the second period in numerical superiority became the only goal of the match when Västerås visited Hovet.

The record for the longest winning streak (including overtime and penalties) in Hockey Allsvenskan is shared by Timrå and Modo, who won 16 matches in a row in the 2020–2021 and 2022–2023 seasons, respectively.

To equal the record, AIK must however defeat series-leading Karlskoga away on Friday.

Table eleven Västerås was extremely close to scoring an equalizing goal, but if not for the post, Victor Brattström in the AIK goal responded with fine saves towards the end of the match.

AIK is fifth in a somewhat faltering table with 84 points – Karlskoga is the series leader with 102 points.

Corrected version: The record is shared by Timrå and Modo.
