AIK won chaotic derby: "No football match"

Coaches who were sent off, turmoil on the pitch and fireworks that temporarily stopped the match. The derby between Djurgården and AIK at Tele2 Arena was chaotic. "It's not a football match," says Rasmus Schüller, whose Djurgården lost 0-2.

In the derby match against Djurgården, AIK's Bersant Celina came on and scored a goal and an assist at Friends Arena in the 2-0 win.

Now Celina started again on the bench, but nine minutes after being substituted in, the 27-year-old scored the leading goal in the 39th minute for AIK.

After the goal, Celina ran out and celebrated with the spectators right next to the Djurgården bench. A tumult ensued, and it ended with Djurgården coach Kim Bergstrand being given a red card, and the same fate befell AIK's assistant coach Henok Goitom.

"No provocation"

I celebrated with my family, it's not provocative, says Bersant Celina to TV company Max.

It went so fast when they ran through our technical zone and took a grip on Tokmac (Nguen). It was all I could keep up with, and then Kim went there to separate them, says Thomas Lagerlöf, Djurgården's coach colleague, to Max after the match.

I have a hard time seeing where the red card comes from, but it was very crowded and chaotic, continues Lagerlöf.

It was just one of several heated situations at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm in front of over 26,000 spectators.

It's not a football match, it's something completely different, says Djurgården's Rasmus Schüller to Max after the first half.

In the second act, the emotions had cooled down somewhat, and after an hour and a quarter, the away team punctuated the twin derby when Rui Modesto could place the 2-0 goal after a long throw-in from Mads Thychosen.

Fired fireworks

Right at the end of regular time, the match was temporarily stopped after Djurgården's supporters fired several fireworks from the standing section. After a 20-minute delay, the game could resume, but AIK's 2-0 lead stood.

AIK's 2-0 goal was conceded by Djurgården's new acquisition Jacob Rinne. In the 57th minute, Malkom Nilsson Säfqvist was forced to break off the match due to a thigh injury, and Rinne made his debut six days after being presented by the club. The goalkeeper comes from Saudi Arabian al-Fateh.

Even AIK was forced to make a goalkeeper change. With a quarter of an hour left to play, national team goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt had to leave with an injury, and in came Ismael Diawara.
