Kouame Rescues AIK With Late Equalizer in Delayed Draw Against IFK Göteborg

The rivalry match between AIK and IFK Göteborg ended in a draw. The match in Solna, which was delayed because of pyrotechnics, ended 2–2.

Half an hour before the match was due to start, fireworks were set off from the IFK dugout and flares were lit. The players had to interrupt their warm-up, and the match was delayed by 40 minutes.

Once the match got underway, it was a thrilling affair. Twice the Blue and Whites took the lead, and twice AIK equalized. AIK’s Axel Kouame scored the winning goal in the 75th minute.

"Sour. But it’s a point," IFK’s Sam Larsson tells TV4.

In their last match, AIK came back from 1–5 down to make it 5–5 against BP, only to lose 5–6 on the last kick of the match.

"We focused on the simple things. Towards the end, maybe last week is the one that sticks. We want three points, but don’t want to risk losing one," says AIK’s Johan Hove.
