Former AIK striker Omar Faraj seemed really keen to play against his former teammates.
From the start of the match he caused chaos and created the best scoring chances in the match. Faraj did not get any reward before the break, but he would not have to wait very long.
At the start of the second half, he struck when he turned in a fine cross from the left wing.
AIK equalised through Johan Hove, but it was HBK who had the final say.
With just minutes left, Malte Persson decided the game when he turned a pass into an open goal.
Halmstad are still bottom of the table, but are closing in on Örgryte and the other teams in the fight to avoid relegation. AIK are seventh and have now gone four matches without a win.
