The center back is one of Swedish football's most experienced players with 158 international matches in Blågult.
Prior to the summer's European Championship finals in Switzerland, Sembrant announced that it would be her last championship with the national team.
However, her club career continues.
After twelve years abroad in Montpellier, Juventus and Bayern München, she surprisingly returns home to AIK, currently in sixth place in Damallsvenskan.
"The club has meant a lot to me during my career and that's why it's a special feeling to be home again now. AIK has presented a clarity in wanting to continue taking steps forward, and in combination with my experience, I am motivated to help the club get where we all want", says Sembrant, who previously played three seasons with the club.

"A player with enormous experience from playing in major clubs and several major championships with the Swedish national team. That being said, we have had a good dialogue where she has expressed that she has a lot more to give on and off the pitch).
Linda Sembrant has signed a contract with AIK until December 31, 2026.
