Several days ago, rumours surfaced that Assadi was on his way to Sweden, but now it is official. The 22-year-old is joining AIK from Universidad de Chile.
“I feel great pride and joy about coming to Sweden and signing for AIK,” Assadi says in a statement on AIK's website.
According to both Sportbladet and Expressen, the attacking midfielder will be the most expensive signing in AIK's history.
AIK's website states that Assadi will join immediately. It remains to be seen whether he will make his debut in Sunday's Stockholm derby against Hammarby.
Assadi has made six senior appearances for Chile and scored 20 goals in 151 matches for Universidad de Chile.
