Söderberg became head of AIK's football department for the 1990 season, and two years later the club won the Swedish Championship. They also won the Swedish Championship in 1998, and the following year AIK qualified for the Champions League, where matches against Barcelona, Arsenal and Fiorentina awaited in the group stage.
He also got to celebrate three Swedish Cup titles.
Stefan Söderberg was 82 years old.
