The Umeå team took a firm grip on the quarterfinal on Sunday, when they won the away game at Hovet and advanced to 3–1 in matches.

On Tuesday evening, Björklöven had their first chance to decide the match series and had a 3–2 lead, with only a couple of minutes remaining.

Then "Gnaget" turned it around.

With 2:33 left of the third period, Jordan Bellerive equalized and forced an overtime. There, Jesper Emanuelsson decided the game after just 1:33.

It's obviously fantastic to win, we're not quite clear yet. We have two more to win, says the match winner to TV4 Hockey.

Björklöven gets a new opportunity to reach the semifinal when the teams meet again in Stockholm on Thursday.

Södertälje became, after Djurgården, the second team to secure a semifinal spot via 2–0 at home against Kalmar. The match series ended 4–1 to SSK.
