Visiting Elfsborg took the lead after 25 minutes. A corner was sent into the box, and no AIK player managed to clear it despite two attempts. Then Julius Magnusson appeared and put the visitors ahead.

Just before the break, AIK responded through Johan Hove, as he has so many times before. The Norwegian’s 1-1 goal was his 18th in the Allsvenskan in just under two seasons at the club - a good return for a midfielder.

For a long time, it looked as though 1-1 would be the final score. But AIK’s young attacking talent Sixten Gustafsson had other ideas. The substitute ran into space with five minutes left, dribbled past an opposing defender and calmly scored to put AIK ahead.

Then came a cold shower for AIK in the 90th minute. From another corner, Elfsborg caused chaos in AIK’s defense, and Rasmus Wikström headed in the equalizer to make it 2-2.

"Right now, it’s cursed. We have to get stronger. It’s sour now," says AIK’s Gustafsson.

Elfsborg were in a happier mood.

"Great, of course. Finally, we’re getting a payoff from set pieces. It was about time we scored from one," says Wikström.

However, Elfsborg are dropping important points in the hunt for a European place and sit fifth in the Allsvenskan table. AIK are seventh.
