The song "Jag vet, du är inte min" by the artist Jacub is currently Sweden's most-played song on Spotify. But Jacub does not actually exist, and the song was created with the help of AI, journalist Emanuel Karlsten reports.

In an email to Karlsten, "Team Jacub" confirms that they used AI as a "tool".

The creators deny that they just "pressed a button," and describe themselves as a collective of "experienced music creators, songwriters and producers who have invested a lot of time, care, emotions and financial resources" in the music.

AI-generated music is not protected by copyright and should therefore not be registered with the copyright organization STIM. According to "Team Jacub", the reason the song was registered there is that it was created through a "human-controlled creative process where AI tools were only used as an aid".

"I know, you're not mine" has over 4.5 million listens on Spotify at the time of writing.
