During the applause after Wagner's "Ragnarok" on Saturday, the team behind the scenographic AI elements was met with boos from the stands. The main reason was a collage of images including former Chancellor Helmut Kohl and the attacks on the World Trade Center, ABC News writes.

The artistic team - musicians, singers and conductor - were, however, met with whistles and applause.

According to the organizers, it was the first time artificial intelligence had been used in this way in a production at the historic festival.
