Bosnia and Herzegovina's Anel Ahmedhodzic ends national team career – at the age of 25.
The reason for the decision: Online hate.
"There are many things that are not okay in the national team, but I didn't think I would quit because of the fans", writes the centre-back in a long letter to the website N1.
Ahmedhodzic claims that he has received thousands of messages since he left the Nations League gathering due to injury.
A year ago, the Sheffield United player was suspended from national team games after declining a call-up due to injury.
The former Malmö FF player has made 24 A-international appearances for Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has also played one training match with Sweden's A-national team.
