This morning, a comfortable victory was achieved against Austrian opponents Julian Hörl and Moritz Pristauz in the round of 16 of the World Championship in Czech Ostrava.
In the quarterfinals, it went even easier.
The Latvian duo Martins Plavins and Kristians Fokerots had nothing to set against when the Swedish super duo came out of the starting blocks at a furious pace. The first set ended 21–7 in favor of Hellvig/Åhman.
And even though it became somewhat more even in the second, it was hardly dramatic. The final scores were written 21–7, 21–12 in favor of the Swedes, who are now clear for the semifinal.
We're playing insanely well today and we're hardly making any mistakes in this match. We're really getting them to fall into our traps and fighting well. It's really nice to get the game going the way we want it to today, and a nice feeling ahead of the semifinal too, says David Åhman to SVT.
Next, Polish opponents await in the form of Michal Bryl and Bartosz Losiak.
