This is an amazing place to play at, this arena is not like anything else in the world. We really love playing here and the fans are incredible, thanks for cheering us on, says Åhman after the victory.

The first set started tough for the Swedes, but Åhman/Hellvig could catch up with the opponents. It became a prolonged decisive set, but Mol/Sörum won the first set in the end with 30–28.

The second set was also even, but towards the end, Sørum made a series of mistakes, and Åhman/Hellvig could equalize at 21–17.

In the third and decisive set, it was a Swedish landslide.

Hellvig stood for several giant blocks and Åhman made fantastic saves. The third set ended 15–7 to Sweden.

Åhman and Hellvig have not won a tournament in their last five attempts. Sixth time lucky.

It feels so good, and we played so well. I'm extremely happy to take gold again, says Hellvig.

The tournament was the Olympic gold medalists' first since Hellvig's thumb injury, which he sustained in April.
