It started well for Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson in Stare Jablonki, Poland, against Norway's Anders Mol and Christian Sørum.
The world number one pair from Sweden impressed in the first set, which they won 21-18.
But Mol and Sørum came back, tied the score at 21-18 and took the match to a tiebreaker.
There, the Swedish star pair bounced back, won 15-10 (the match was 2-1 in sets) and took European Championship gold.
With the victory, Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson are also qualified for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
For the other Swedish pair, David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig, it was a medal miss after losing the bronze medal match 2-1 in sets against France.
