It started well for Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson in Polish Stare Jablonki against Anders Mol and Christian Sörum from Norway.

The Swedish world number one pair impressed in the first set, which they won 21–18.

But Mol and Sörum rallied, levelled the score at 1–1 in sets and took the match to a tiebreaker.

There, the Swedish pair bounced back, won 15–10 and took European Championship gold.

"We’ve played well all week. I don’t know what to say, it’s incredible. It’s probably the toughest team you can face," says Jacob Hölting Nilsson in SVT’s broadcast.

"It’s fantastic to win here. We’ve been training hard and it’s nice to be able to show it," says Elmer Andersson.

With the victory, Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson are also qualified for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

For the other Swedish pair, David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig, it was a medal miss after losing the bronze medal match 1–2 in sets against France.
