There, they will analyze and propose new screening intervals for existing screening programs, including breast cancer screening, says Minister of Health Elisabet Lann (KD) at a press conference.

Today, breast cancer screening is only offered up to the age of 74. At the same time, one in four women who fall ill is over 74 years old, and in older women, breast cancer is often found at a later stage, she emphasizes.

In Sweden, screening for bowel cancer is offered from the age of 60, while the EU recommends that it should be done from the age of 50.
