The resignation was announced on the Croatian Football Federation's website on Wednesday. Croatia won five major tournaments and two championship medals during Zlatko Dalic's nine years as national team coach.
"The results speak for themselves. The respect you have earned from players and opponents says a lot about who you are as a person," the association writes in a statement.
The highlights under Dalic's leadership were World Cup silver in Russia in 2018 and World Cup bronze in Qatar in 2022.
