Matt Brittin was previously Google's head of Europe, but left that post in 2024.

Donald Trump has sued the BBC for ten billion dollars after the television program "Panorama" cut together two parts of a statement Trump made on January 6, 2021, creating the appearance that he was urging his supporters to storm the Capitol.

The BBC is also under heavy pressure from cost-cutting demands and a political debate initiated by the opposition Tory party about scrapping the television license.

Correction: A previous version contained an inaccuracy regarding the timing of Trump's indictment.
